Pack your beach towel and gather your friends for the perfect Aussie getaway at Esperance Chalet Village in Western Australia. Accommodation at Esperance Chalet Village is made up of individual buildings set on acreage, so guests can holiday in groups, or have their own private escape.

Located just a five-minute stroll from the crystal clear waters of Esperance Bay, the charming village is made up of a series of stand-alone a-frame chalets and larger shacks all surrounded by large trees and lush native gardens. If you can’t be bothered to walk down to the beach, Bandy Creek also flanks the property so you can fish, kayak, or just crack a few cold ones by the water whenever you feel the urge. Each chalet is beautifully styled to suit your surroundings—think crisp white linen bedding, timber cladding, a good splash of white paint, and coastal chic decor—and are equipped with either reverse cycle air conditioning or ceiling fans and portable heaters to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

The creators and makers who grew up in this once-sleepy town are returning to their roots to breathe new life into Esperance, and that includes Fiona Shillington, owner of this chalet village (with her husband Matt). This once-rundown campground with its A-frame cabins has been given a Scandi-inspired makeover and sits within cooee of town and close to white-sand hotspots Cape Le Grand and Lucky Bay. Jump on a cruiser bike to explore, go and pat the local horses, and finish your day around a firepit.

Two transplants from Sydney turn an overgrown and outdated holiday resort into a cozy compound that comes complete with fresh baked goods. Located about two hours by air from the Western Australia state capital of Perth, the coastal area of Esperance is known for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters. On the edge of town sits a cluster of recently restored A-frames, log cabins, and cottages, located just behind the dunes. Called Esperance Chalet Village, the revived holiday community is the product of a multi-year journey that began with one couple's Sunday drive.

DweLL MAGAZINE - August 2020

“Esperance Chalet Village, cannot beat this place. Complete seclusion. After an epic few days exploring Esperance, we didn't think there was anywhere that could top it, until we ended up in Albany. A stones throw from two National Parks, dramatic coastlines and remote hiking trails - it really was another paradise to tick off the West Coast bucket list.”

Billabong Travel Diaries - February 2019

“Set behind sand dunes and nestled among trees, Esperance Chalet Village is a collection of chalets, cabins and shacks. This idyllic hideaway is within walking distance of pristine, tranquil beaches and just a five-minute drive from town. The village offers a home-away-from-home feel, doing as much or as little as you like — bike riding, fishing and bushwalking are all popular activities. “I didn’t want to leave,” says photographer Marnie Hawson of her own stay. “The chalets were beautiful, full of character, and our host Di made us feel so at home.” One of the area’s original holiday destinations, this peaceful bush hideaway offers the perfect base for exploring the surrounds.”

"Golden Girl 18 takes you on a journey through the undiscovered beauty of the golden outback of Esperance, Australia. Rocky gold-seamed outcrops and dunes that plunge into crystalline waters perfectly compliment the alluring explosions of colour. Find yourself getting lost in the beauty of WA.”

— SEAFOLLY, SUMMER 2018 SWIM CAMPAIGN

"Beautifully renovated and styled, with a relaxed seaside feel. We loved it so much we accidentally stayed far longer than planned. It was a great base for exploring Esperance, and also the perfect place to stop and spend a few restful days getting work done. That sentence sounds like a paradox, but our few days catching up on work involved sitting on the day bed with cups of coffee and the sunlight beaming through the floor to ceiling glass, with a view out to the creek and the sound of waves in the distance. Bliss.”

"We stayed in the chalets for the four nights we were in Esperance, and I can easily say I never wanted to leave! Fiona the owner is super nice and hilarious, and has created a very homey, relaxed chilled out space. The interiors are nothing like a regular hotel room, they have been designed almost like your staying in your own home. Im not sure I would ever stay anywhere else when I decide to return to Esperance!”
