Esperance accommodation sold out over summer? Reasons to consider visiting in autumn, winter or spring.

While tens of thousands of visitors flock to Esperance over the summer months, holidaying in the picturesque coastal town can be just as enjoyable in autumn, winter or spring. Esperance Chalet Village is the ideal place to stay year round. The Esperance accommodation is perfect for an escape any time of year, whether it’s a romantic getaway or a family holiday with the kids. Esperance might be known for its endless stretches of coastline, pristine blue water and pure white sand, but that doesn’t mean it’s only a destination for the warmer months. No matter the season, there is so much to see and do in Esperance and Esperance Chalet Village is the ideal accommodation near Esperance to use as a launching pad. Here are our favourite things to do in the autumn, winter and spring:

Autumn: Explore Cape Le Grand National Park

Autumn brings with it days that are warm, sunny and windless, while the nights are starlit, cool and crisp. There is no better time of year to visit the world renowned Cape Le Grand National Park, an easy 40-minute drive from your Esperance accommodation holiday house at Esperance Chalet Village. There is so much more to Cape Le Grand National Park than just a few kangaroos lazing about at Lucky Bay. There are 20 kilometres of coastal walk trails through the national park, varying in difficultly from an easy stroll to a hard hike. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous (and you’re both experienced and prepared enough), walk the whole way from Rossiter Beach to Le Grand Beach. You’ll need a post-hike soak in the bathtub at your Esperance accommodation if you take this option! If you’re after great views with your workout, climb Frenchman Peak and reap the rewards at the top.

Winter: Go

Whale Watching

Between May and the end of the year, humpback, southern right and blue whales pass by Esperance. They’re often so close to shore that you don’t even need binoculars to see them! Whales are often seen around the town beaches, including Castletown Quays, which is just five minutes from the centre of town. They also love to make their way along the Great Ocean Drive, a scenic coastal road stretching 40-kilometres. To get as close to the action as possible, make sure to book accommodation near Esperance, such as Esperance accommodation Esperance Chalet Village. When you’re all whaled out, return to Esperance Chalet Village to warm up by the fire. Sitting under the stars while you roast marshmallows on an open fire is an experience few people have living in the city. At Esperance Chalet Village, it’s part of daily life! Throughout winter, the complimentary open fire pits are going daily, so pour yourself a glass of wine, step out of your Esperance accommodation holiday house, and settle in for an evening of snuggling up next to your loved one, or stargazing with your kids.

Spring: Picnic with the Wildflowers

Just a 15-minute drive from your Esperance accommodation holiday house at Esperance Chalet Village, is Helms Arboretum. This is one of the best places to catch a glimpse of just some of the 2500 wildflowers that are native to the Esperance region. Before you drive out to the almost-100 year old arboretum, stop by Bob & Jim’s, a must-visit grocery store on Dempster Street. Stock up on gourmet goodies, like local sourdough bread, Western Australian cheeses, and an array of European produce, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. Better yet, have the team at Bob & Jim’s pack a picnic hamper for you, meaning less time perusing the aisles and more time in the great outdoors! Helms Arboretum is also close to the Gibson Soak Hotel, a fab little pub for lunch or dinner by the fire. As far as accommodation near Esperance goes, Esperance Chalet Village is the perfect spot to stay if you want easy access to both town and the beautiful wildflowers the region has to offer… Both are right on your doorstep!
